English & Spanish – Hosted by Grid Alternatives Puerto Rico, Rolls is pleased to offer a FREE four part intensive battery technical training workshop for solar installers, electricians and inspectors working in Puerto Rico’s renewable energy market. This full day event will outline the benefits and considerations when selecting traditional lead-acid or LiFePO4 lithium battery options, as well as an in-depth review of the features and advantages of Rolls R-Series & S-Series drop-in batteries as well as ESS options. Training will be held from 8:00am – 2:00pm at Centro Pathstone, Juncas, Puerto Rico on February 27th.

In addition, NABCEP Board-Certified professionals will receive 1.5 hours continuing education credit upon completion.

Part: 1 :Residential Energy Storage: Choosing the Right Battery Technology 

From traditional deep-cycle batteries to advanced lithium options, installers have access to a wide range of energy storage technologies. Factors such as storage capacity, charge & discharge requirements, installation location, operating conditions, and cost all play a key role in determining the best fit for an off-grid or backup power system. We’ll briefly outline the features, benefits, and limitations of lead-acid and LiFePO4 battery types to help you make an informed choice for your customer.


Part 2: Rolls LFP Drop-In Batteries: Sizing, Commissioning & Troubleshooting

This session covers the features & benefits of Rolls R-Series and S-Series LiFePO4 drop-in batteries. We’ll review storage sizing, recommended charging for both 3-stage charger retrofits and new inverter setup, balancing, and operating/storage temperature ranges to ensure optimal performance and cycle life.

Last, we’ll briefly walk through the Rolls LFP Connect app, explain Installer Mode setup, adding and identifying batteries, and interpreting and status data and alarms. Submitting a completed support ticket, including the required battery data log, will also be explained to streamline technical support and shorten downtime for your customers. 


Part: 3 :Rolls S48-100LFP STACK-LV LiFePO4 ESS: Product Overview, Features & Configuration

This session will provide a technical overview of the new S48-100LFP STACK-LV 48V 100Ah LiFePO4 Energy Storage System from Rolls Battery, focusing on product design, configuration, assembly, inverter integration, and basic system troubleshooting.

Attendees will learn key features of the 1–8 stackable module system, including certification details, dual busbars supporting up to 400A charge/discharge (with 5+ batteries), integrated external breaker and BMS controls, display functions, as well as feature comparisons with other leading ESS solutions available in the market.

An overview of full vs. basic inverter support will be explained, as well as closed loop communication and Inverter protocol setup using the dedicated PC software or Rolls LFPConnect app—featuring its setup wizard, demo video, and upcoming logging tools.


Part: 4 :Rolls S48-100LFP STACK-LV LiFePO4 ESS: Assembly, Connection & Inverter Protocol Setup (Live Demo)

In this practical session we’ll follow the S48-100LFP STACK-LV assembly instructions, including the Base+Top Assembly, powering on the system, and connecting in closed loop communication, walking through our step-by-step guides for connecting with popular hybrid inverters.
